Big Brothers Big Sisters is a nationally acclaimed program matching hundreds of children from single-parent families to caring adult role models. Volunteers spend an average of nine hours each month with their Little Brother or Sister. The program also welcomes couples or groups wishing to volunteer. Together, these matches share quality recreational time, and many form life-long friendships.
A study released by Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) National Headquarters found that adults mentored as children through are more likely than peers with similar backgrounds but who were not involved in the program to have a four-year college degree, household incomes of $75,000 or greater and strong relationships with their spouses, children and friends.
