“Give Me Shelter” Campaign for Children
A campaign providing funding for the only emergency shelter serving abused, neglected, abandoned and runaway children and youth in Berkeley County, the “Give Me Shelter” Campaign for Children kicks off on Saturday, February 4, 2012 with the Shuckin’ for Shelter Charity Oyster Roast held at Crowfield Golf and Country Club in Goose Creek. The campaign also includes a dinner and auction later this Spring.

March 24, 2012: Big Brothers Big Sisters Bowl for Kids’ Sake
On Saturday, March 24, 2012, Bigs and Littles will join supporters of Big Brothers Big Sisters for Bowl for Kids’ Sake, an annual event held at Dorchester Lanes in Summerville. Funds raised during Bowl for Kids’ Sake provides the support needed to match more than 150 area children with a caring adult role model.
Bowl for Kids’ Sake is the largest community-wide event supporting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Carolina Youth Development Center.

May 1, 2012: Big Brothers Big Sisters Celebrity Golf Tournament
On Tuesday, May 1, 2012, board members, local celebrities, industry leaders and community supporters will come together for the Big Brothers Big Sisters Celebrity Golf Tournament — a day of friendly competition at the award-winning Daniel Island Club.
In addition to the golf tournament, the day’s events include an awards reception and dinner as well as a silent auction. The funds raised during this inspiring event will help us to provide the effective recruitment, training, coordination and recognition that are the hallmarks of this proven community mentoring program.

September 20, 2012: Ninth Annual “A Night for the Children” Gala
Our annual gala, held Thursday, September 20, 2012 at McCrady’s Restaurant, is an elegant event that features a silent auction, live music and dancing, and McCrady’s fabulous cuisine. Funds raised benefit Carolina Youth Development Center’s programs which help children who are victims of abuse or neglect, or who are at risk of delinquent behaviors. The event helps to raise awareness of the critical needs of the children in our care.
