What is online giving?
Online giving is an easy and convenient way for you to help more than 600 children and families struggling with abuse, neglect, and abandonment. You can offer your gift to us from the privacy of your home or office at a time that works for you.
How does CYDC process its online donations?
We have chosen Click and Pledge to process our online donations. Click and Pledge handles all of the security necessary for processing the transaction and then transfers the money to us.
What payment methods do you allow for online payments?
You may use Discover, MasterCard, Visa and eCheck to make your donation, pay for your event tickets or pay for your sponsorship online. If you are choosing to sponsor an event or campaign, you will also see the option to receive an invoice for your purchase. If you would like to use American Express for your payment, you may do so by calling our office during regular business hours at (843) 266-5217.
Are there other ways to make a gift online?
Most banks allow you to choose to make payments to any business or organization through online banking. You can check with your bank to see if this is an option for you. Otherwise, please feel free to use Click and Pledge here to make your gift to us online.
How secure is online giving?
Click and Pledge is a secure way to make a payment with your credit card or bank account information because this information is only processed on Click and Pledge’s secure system. CYDC never sees or has access to your credit card or bank account information. You can see more information about Click and Pledge security here.
Will the information I provide remain private?
We take your privacy very seriously. When you make a donation / payment, our Director of Development receives an email with your name, the amount of your donation / payment, email address, and mailing address. You will be added to our database which we also use for sending out periodic electronic newsletters and other mailings. CYDC never shares your information with anyone else. How does the donation transaction appear on my credit card statement?
After making an online donation to CYDC, your credit card statement will indicate a payment to Charleston Orphan House.
Is there any charge or fee to me for this service?
No. You select the dollar amount for your gift. That is the dollar amount that will be charged, and your entire donation is tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. CYDC pays a nominal fee to Click and Pledge for the convenience and security of the service.
