Join us on Tuesday, May 1 at Charleston’s exclusive Daniel Island Club for a day of fun and competition for a great cause! Benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Carolina Youth Development Center, the Big Brothers Big Sisters Celebrity Golf Tournament is a perfect way for you to help us start something for children right here in the Lowcountry.
In addition to a fun day of golf with local celebrities, the event includes a dinner reception, awards ceremony and silent auction, held immediately after the tournament.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Carolina Youth Development serves more than 200 tri-county children each year, ages 6 to 16, by offering them the support of a positive relationship with a mentor (a Big Brother or Sister). Through this relationship, a child has the opportunity to share new experiences with an adult role model while developing and strengthening his or her capacity to become a competent and caring adult.
The benefits of this nationally acclaimed program, the oldest and most effecting youth mentoring program in the country, are needed here in the Lowcountry. Young people who participate in BBBS are less likely to be arrested or to use drugs, they stay in school longer and earn better grades, and they get along better at home and with their peers.
If you’d like more information about how you can get involved as a sponsor, please call Amy Ware at (843) 266-5218, or send her an email at AWare[at]cydc.org.
